Jim Smith

Pastor

Jim was born and raised in Southern California before moving north in 1976 to attend Sonoma State University.  It was there he was converted to Christ and met Cory, whom he later married in 1978.

After graduating from college, Jim embarked on an eighteen-year career as a school teacher before entering full-time ministry in 2001.  Throughout his Christian life, Jim has served in the church as a children’s teacher, worship team member, small group leader, elder, and associate pastor.   His attitude has always been to maintain a willingness to serve wherever need arises.

In May, 2006, while on staff at Crossroads Christian Church of Vacaville, Jim responded to a call to serve at North Hills.  With the blessing and support of Crossroads, Jim stepped out and assumed his current role as Lead Pastor.  His passion is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and see lives transformed through the ministry of God’s Word.

Jim and Cory live in Vacaville and have four grown children:  Michael, Hilary, Cailey, and Christy. Jim's hobbies and interests include reading theology, listening to jazz, mountain biking, and surfing.
