Our little ones are growing in wisdom and stature, here's what our teachers taught the "next generation" this past Sunday!

Nursery~Â "I" is for "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life..." John 14:6
Â
Primary~"Your child heard how the Israelites again reached Canaan's borders. God, who had kept his promises to be with the Israelites and provide them with their own land, later kept his promise to send the Savior. The children were encouraged to praise GOD for meeting all their needs and to show their love for GOD by trusting and obeying Him.

Lower/upper elementary~BIBLE TRUTH: God requires us to be content with what He gives us and not to envy others for what he gives them. (Tenth Commandment)

LESSON FOCUS: To learn that, as children of God, we are to be satisfied with what we have and thank GOD for what He gives us and others; to ask the Lord Jesus to help us learn to be content as we grow in trusting and obeying him.

*Please be sure to remind your child (ren) about their homework sheet that is sent home each week to reinforce what they were taught and to bring it back the following week.*

Nursery~ "G" is for "God sets the lonely in families." Psalm 68:5-6

Primary~"Your child learned that God kept his Word to care for His people. He provided water for them when they were thirsty. Although God had met all their needs, they still did not trust him. Only a patient and gracious God would continue to teach his people the to depend on his unfailing care. The children were encouraged to trust God to meet their needs and to thankhim for his loving care for them.

Lower/upper elementary~BIBLE TRUTH: God commands us to honor our parents and all other lawful authorities he places over us. (fifth commandment)
Â
LESSON FOCUS~ To discover how we honor our parents; to understand that we must show respect to all wo are in authority over us; to learn that we honor God when we honor those in authority.

Take a look at what your North Hills kiddos learned this past Sunday!!

Nursery~Craft time with pumpkins and verses like "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
Â
Primary~Your child heard about nine of the terrible plagues God sent to Egypt to show His power and judgment. Your child learned that God was getting ready to keep His promise to free his people. The lesson stressed that God's children can trust their powerful God who always keeps His Word to save and protect His own. Next week, preschoolers will discover how God used the tenth plague to bring about Israel's freedom at last

Lower/Upper elementary~ Pastor Nic taught this Sunday; "We talked from Luke 12:13-21 and how Jesus taught us that we are to guard our hearts against wanting more and more (greed) and not being satisfied with what we have. Â That we are to count the days that we have as precious because we don't know when the Lord will "require our souls of us" and that we should spend our days being "rich towards God" because we will never be satisfied with the things of this world." |
