Hello North Hills Family!! Here's what our children learned this week in Sunday School!
Nursery (ages 0-3) ~We are still working on Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Primary (ages 4-6) ~
The focus of this week's lesson was to tell the children that Jesus is their Savior from sin. In the story of John the Baptist, the children learned that John called people to repent from their sins because the promised Savior was coming. They learned that many people responded to John's message by being truly sorry for their sins, turning to Jesus and being baptized. The children also leaned that Jesus came to John to be baptized out of obedience to His Father. His Baptism showed that He was the Savior of His people and that it was time to begin the work that God had sent Him to do. After Jesus was baptized, God confirmed Jesus saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased," Matt. 3:17.
Lower/Upper Elementary (ages7-11)~The topic in this class was "celebrating the Lord's Day"...To understand what it means that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath; to learn that Jesus tells us how to worship him on the Sabbath...The pharisees tried to accuse Jesus of breaking the Sabbath...But Jesus came to fulfill the law and in that He did acts of love and mercy on the Sabbath which we are to follow by His example, not just on Sunday, but on every other day of the week as well...Look up Matt 12:1-14 for review and talk about what they recieved from this lesson!!
