Foreign Ministries

Hayley in Central Asia:

Haley has been in China for 9 months now and has truly seen her dependence on the Lord challenged daily as she ministers to the local people group. In building relationships with the young women around her, she has been using opportunities like Easter to share the Gospel and lovingly made baked goods to reach out to the poor while at the same time challenging her non-believing friends to do the same. Lately she has been very encouraged by three different friends and neighbors expressing interest in reading the Bible to improve their English skills. What a tremendous opportunity to let the Spirit work in their hearts. She continues to be challenged to live and love as Christ did in such a different and oppressed place. You can find her most recent newsletter on the missions table Sunday morning.

Prayer Requests

  • Coping with culture shock and homesickness
  • Gods guidance in conversations with those she meets
  • Understanding of who God is for the young women around her
  • The work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those she reads the English Bible with
  • Praise for God's faithfulness and sufficiency
  • Prayer and praise for continued financial provisions

Missions Training Partnership:
GOSPEL-CENTERED MISSIONS TRAINING

Radius International seeks to carry the gospel to every point around the globe through training pioneer cross-cultural church planters. Jesus calls us to be His witnesses, to reach the very edges of the world with His message of salvation. Radius International prepares missionaries for the realities of pioneer church planting among the least evangelized peoples of the world.

Meet a Missionary:
Ralph and Kim Lewis

Members of our church family are active supporters of missionaries around the world. We would like to give you the opportuntiy to get to know them too! Dan and Rebecca Pilcher have been supporting missionaries Ralph and Kim Lewis in Cambodia.

Ralph and Kim Lewis work with New Tribes Mission in North Central Cambodia with the Kui people, an ethnic minority who, before their arrival, had no written language, no portions of the Bible, and were steeped in animistic rituals. Excited to share the gospel as the first evangelical witness present, they realized that there were tremendous physical needs that existed needing to be addressed in order to gain the audience of the Kui people. Over several years, they along with some other missionaries, worked to provide wells for drinking water, filter systems, bridges, and adequate medical care. A medical center now provides service to over 2000 people which is now staffed by nationals. In 2009 their co-workers presented a written alphabet of the Kui language to the Cambodian government which is now the basis for the written language and they are already seeing progress in teaching literacy among the people. During this time, they have also seen incredible progress in meeting the spiritual needs of the Kui. Portions of the Bible have already been translated and are being used to share the gospel along with lessons teaching about God, man's sin, and God's provision through Christ.

The Lewis family is currently on home leave and Lord willing will return to Cambodia in December to complete the remaining bible lessons and continue to minister to the Kui people for another term. Their home leave travel will include a stop in Vacaville in July where we at North Hills will have the opportunity to meet them.

Prayer Requests

  • Open and receptive hearts among the Kui people
  • Movement and power of the Holy Spirit
