James 4:6-10

1.      Briefly review what we’ve studied in the book of James so far and note how it has encouraged your growth in Christ.

2.       How does James 3:13-4:5 relate to 4:6-10?  What connections do you see?

3.      What is our hope in the midst of conflict and worldliness according to v.6 and 10?  (also Romans 5:20; Proverbs3:34; Isaiah 57:15; 66:2; Matthew 18:3-4)

4.      What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘submission’?  How does our world generally relate to this concept?

5.      What does the Bible teach about submission?  (v.7; Ephesians 5:21-24; Hebrews 13:17; Romans 13:1-2)

6.      How are we to respond to Satan’s influence as we submit to God?   (v.7; 1 Peter 5:6-9; Ephesians 4:27; 6:11)

7.      How do you understand repentance according to vv. 8-9?  What does it mean to draw near to God (v.8; Psalm 24:3-6; 63:1-2)
