Ruth
1. Describe a time that the Lord may have stripped you of what you loved most in order to accomplish is plan in your life.
2. Can we look at the "bitter" providence of God as the beginning of the next step God has plan for our lives? Ex. Naomi in Ch. 1:13, 4:14
3. Do we ever neglect to recognize Gods faithfulness toward His plans even amidst our sin? (Ex. God still used Ruth as a foreigner and Naomi even though her sons disobeyed the Lord and intermarried with the Moabites.)
4. Take a look at Ch. 2:8-16. Can we see how quick and eager Boaz is to love and redeem Ruth? How is this a portrait of Gods redeeming love for us?
5. Can we see Ruths leaving behind all she knows to follow Naomi as an example of what one does when they find a greater love? (1:15-16; 2:11-12) What is that a picture of?
6. Is there not much joy from Boaz when Ruth asks to be redeemed by him? (3:10). Compare this to the joy spoken of in Luke 15:7.
